At heart, I am a storyteller.
As a former educator, I guided my students to tell their own stories; now as a content leader, I've helped a multitude of brands to clarify and convey their own unique message by embracing the primal structure of a simple narrative.
Richard Bolles, in his classic best-seller, What Color is Your Parachute, advises job hunters to find meaning in their lives by fulfilling three missions, one of which is "To exercise that talent that you particularly came to Earth to use — your greatest gift, which you most delight to use."
For me, the verb "exercise" suggests a recurring endeavor. My passion for finding — and telling — a story has served me well. But more importantly, it has allowed me to continue to serve others.
Bolles also reminds us to "Do what you can, moment by moment, ... to make this world a better place." As my own story continues to unfold, it is my hope that I can do a little more every day to fulfill this most noble of missions.
